I recently had the opportunity to take part in TeaMWork 2026 as a University Mentor. TeaMWork is a global virtual internship programme led by Monash Career Services and supported by the Monash Warwick Alliance.
The programme connects interdisciplinary student teams from Monash University Malaysia, Monash University Australia, Monash University Indonesia, and the University of Warwick with international organisations to address real-world business challenges.
Over the four-week programme, I mentored three teams made up of students from Monash University Malaysia, Monash University Australia, and the University of Warwick. Working across different time zones and within a tight project schedule, the students collaborated to develop their proposals and present their recommendations in the final week. This year, the teams worked on three industry projects:
• Pools & Spas Market in Malaysia — allnex
• Identifying Untapped B2B Markets for a Malaysian Cultural Gifting Brand — Life Design Studio
• Positioning a Culturally-Rooted Malaysian Skincare Brand Against an Established Competitive Landscape — Life Design Studio
It was especially encouraging to see the organisational mentors respond positively to the quality of the students’ work and the recommendations they presented.
TeaMWork gave students the chance to apply what they had learned in an international and interdisciplinary setting, collaborate across cultures, and work on genuine business problems under time constraints. I was glad to be part of the programme and to support the teams through the process.
